Ausmose is a manufacturer and supplier of Ausplast Bandage and Ausplast Cartridge timber preservative. The Ausplast system is a patented formulation designed to prolong the life of hardwood utility poles.
This is ideally used in conjunction with a utilities asset management program. In particular, it would be applied as part of the inspection process when digging is required to assess the pole’s exterior condition at and below ground line.
In terms of performance, Ausplast offers excellent product efficacy, where it provides a controlled release of the active ingredient. This ensures that the concentration of active is toxic to wood decay, but is delivered over several years. Thus providing coverage over treatment cycles of between 4-7 years.
The materials used in Ausplast are mostly degradable and naturally occurring in their unrefined form, so has minimal environmental impact over the life of the treatment. In terms of regulatory requirements, these products are registered for use in Australia with the APVMA.
