Ausmose Details

Ausplast is a product containing Fluoride as the active ingredient. It has two forms, as a pre applied bandage in a 20m roll, and in a 350ml cartridge. The bandage is the most common form, where it is easily cut to size to fit the pole. The cartridge is designed to treat deep checks, where the application of the bandage is difficult or impossible
As with all chemical systems, suitable training is required for the Pole Inspectors who will apply the product. It is recommended that they are equipped with the recommended Personal Protective Equipment and that they carry copies of both the Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet for reference at all times.

Method of application

1. image-3Excavate 350 mm below ground. On a sloping site Ausplast sheets may be stepped and depth adjusted to suit. Remove all loose soil, splinters and badly decayed wood. Spaces under and near cables and conduits need detailed attention.

2. Clear the bottom of the hole to below the lower edge of Ausplast sheets on the pol. Fill any major cracks or hollows with Ausplast Paste from a cartridge. Loose material and drillings which unavoidably accumulate in the bottom of the excavation must be removed.

3. image-5Estimate the length(s) of Ausplast required considering obstructions. A minimum of 2 pieces are recommended. Cut the first length, lay it on the ground and remove the separation plastic sheet with a motion almost parallel with the Ausplast surface. This minimizes paste removal.

4. Lift with two hands and position it against the pole so that the top will be 50mm below the natural ground surface. Only 24mm of uncoated paper margin can be allowed to fold out on any residual spoil. Achieve adherence by pressing lightly as required and finishing along the edge of the piece.

5. image-6Repeat step 4 with additional pieces always providing a minimum overlap of 20mm on both sides. Use smaller lengths around (and under) cables and conduits and as a make-up piece(s).

6. Finally check that the top of the Ausplast is in contact with the pole around the full circumference. Backfill the excavated soil applying foot compaction to ensure that the paste is pressed in intimate contact with the pole. The finished material surface must be re-established with the top of the Ausplast 50mm below and otherwise to the pole owner’s instructions.

7. image-1The separation sheet shall be placed in the plastic bag provided. If any occasional defects are encountered in the product. This material is required to be disposed of in accordance with your state or territories EPA requirements. The following Technical Data Sheets and Safety Data Sheets are updated frequently. Ausmose will strive to make sure these documents are updated and current. However, please ensure that you ensure that the copy you have is current.
